Gia Gilmour
Procrastinator Extraordinaire
Hi, I’m Gia! Welcome to my website.
My Story
I am a mother, grandmother, wife, friend, and cancer survivor. I do not have a degree in psychology or social work, but a Bachelors of Science in Community Health Education.
I have always wanted to help others and my mother told me that she had always pictured me as an educator. Realizing that a website could be the perfect platform is putting my on this path of fulfilling both of our dreams.
I write a bit like I think; informative and with some sarcasm. Life is short. Learn something new every day and have fun! I hope you will as well.
My Values & Beliefs
Learn something new everyday
Learning something new everyday keeps our brain active. It could be the smallest detail; your child no longer likes broccoli. It could be a big lesson on how to design a website.
Your family or village is important
The people who are blood or marriage related are family. However, the people that you surround yourself with can be viewed as a family also. They can also be part of your village. Take care of both.
Take care of yourself
Self-care is a term thrown around a lot. Women are notorious about putting others before themselves. But, if you are not the best version of you, your family or village will not be the best either.
More about me
I often tell people that I am a native Oregonian born and raised in California. All of my grandparents (on both sides) have strong ties to the Northwest and many extended family members live in Oregon.
I have three children, two girls, and a boy. My husband and I have been married for over 24 years and one of our daughters is my step-daughter. The other two are from my first marriage which didn’t last long.
I have made really bad decisions in my life out of fear. I have also made some really good decisions in my life that changed it for the better.
